Reproductive Health: Lichen Schlerosus

Lichen sclerosus condition in dormant phase:

Around 1997 my doctor diagnosed me with a skin condition called Lichen sclerosus.

Lichen sclerosus is a skin condition that causes itchy white patches on the genitals or other parts of the body. There’s no cure, but treatment can help relieve the symptoms.

And the reason for Lichen sclerosus is… unknown.

In active/regeneration phase:

Inflammation, skin breakdown with all that can involve.

In my case my symptoms became active about 18 years later.

Lichen sclerosus is a chronic condition, and chronic ailments flair when a stress trigger is in play.
Pre-pubescent girls and post-menopausal women are the main groups affected.
I cannot give any comment regarding pre-pubescent girls, or from the LGBT community. Colleagues may offer information.

However, it is not purely a female problem, but much is written from the female perspective.

Although treatment can help, skin affected by lichen sclerosus can sometimes become scarred and tight over time. This can cause discomfort when peeing, pooing, having sex or getting an erection. If it’s severe, you might need a small operation.

NHS

Important: Cancer: Lichen sclerosus increases your risk of getting cancer on your vulva or penis.

How skin symptoms present:

There are two layers of skin; epidermis and dermis; a skin related blocked emotional trauma is held at cellular level.

The two skin layers have separate root cause stories; the subtleties of Loss of Touch, Protection or Defilement.
The precise part of the body affected has more specific trigger information attached to it.
If you have this debilitating symptom, I do not suggest you try to think your answers to WHY.

Medical treatment to manage symptoms:

Strong steroid cream used under direction from Doctor/Consultant. But that becomes detrimental in long term use.

My situation.

I remember the time,1997 when I was diagnosed.
I had just gone through a traumatic personal challenge, and looking back, I can pinpoint the potential root cause start to this problem.
And the active/regeneration phase 18 years later, when I became aware of change, had a specific and relevant emotional challenge connection.

You may ask:

  • How do I find out “Why ME?”
  • “Will I be able to reduce these symptoms?”

Here’s what to do:

Keep a record of flare ups in a little booklet; date and note particular symptom. eg Skin breakdown, itch, pain.
Seeing a pattern of stress, and the stress situation eventually resolved, is the first step to easing this problem.
A doctor will ask you how long you’ve had the problem, what symptoms are. Have that information to hand.

Why do you have this health problem?

Now it gets interesting. I work with the innate knowledge you hold subconsciously; the Body, Mind Connection to your presenting symptom.

How do I help you?

That’s when I ask you a short series of questions which take you to the Root Cause, the Why you present this symptom.
With guidance and support you release the emotive stress trigger, so that healing can begin.
The strong symptoms will reduce and you can go about your life without fear of vile bursts of pain, panic around sex or feeling less than the person you want to be.
